Hello guys!!! Audition had over yesturday...i know you guys are nervous and does not play well enough but DON'T NEGLECT, as you had did your best to overcome your fear and play infornt the 2 judges. Whether you are in or out its dosen't matter, now concentrate on our POP & let us give a best shot and peform well. We are left with 6 days to POP, please go & practice ur score if you are not clear of any part come and look for Candice & Me and others. You are left with 146hr35min20s

Hwello guys !

It has been such a long time since i post in the blog as we're busy preparing syf.

*Sec twos and above : Okay since we clinched a sliver and we were kind of disappointed in our performance so why don't we continue to strive UP not DOWN and improve even more and faster and get things right faster from now on? As you guys know we had improved from this syf competition but we can improve more. Next performance should be speech day or pop so are you guys going to make a difference out of it or still remain as now? Think about it and if you think that you want to make a difference, let's go into action as a section alright? I don't mind you guys complaining for awhile but after that get on to action and carry on practice more more to make it perfect alright? From now on, since we finished our syf, our problems are techniques and tone. Hope you guys can take those technique books from our clarinet box at our seating area to practice those techniques, it will make a difference in your playing believe me! And from now on, we will tune properly our concert Bb and F. Always rmb our note G must always be in tune, low note C slightly flat and middle note C slightly sharp, is that okay? This is really important. We will tune chromatic so next time whenever performance you guys will be able to know the position and embouchure so we can tune faster and more in tune alright? I know you guys cried today, i also but continue to strive higher and learn faster together kays promise me? Talk less, learn more! Be more independent, stop relying on seniors or anyone who is playing louder. Play out so we can help each other and play as a section. Only when you play out loud and so our tone will be like a big section. :D ALL THE BEST !

*Sec ones : And for sec ones, keep on working don't stop trying. Better tone colour :) Don't worry, miss chang our clarinet tutor coming to teach you guys soon :) hehes.

For juniors, although you're new but there's homeworks yeah ? ^^ Shall not lose to other section alright? :D Concert Bb scale please know how to play.. The mozart melody, hotdogbun or sth and lastly a self song choosen. :) Please practice and work hard alright? :)) Jia you :D

Seniors, band prac resumes after cny break k. Make sure you guys can remember what Mr Lin taught us today like which note flatten or sharpen. :)

Hey seniors and juniors 2011,

Can everyone bring $3.10 for buying 2 stands for our section by next saturday 5th of february 2011. :)

Our tuners had been named as clarinet 1, 2, 3 and bass so please do not lose our tuners and ya each parts have one please take good care because tuners are often lost.

Seniors please help to take good care of our tuners. :)

There's one metronome at our box so please bring home and use seniors !!!

Syf is coming soon, hope you guys cope your studies and band well kays?

Hi !

Remember i said i think of having few stands for the section? Cuz stands in our section are pathetic.. Can everyone contribute some money and we buy two stands for yamaha? Heard it was $20 dollar each so if we are to divide into 10 people, it will be $4 for 1 person. Is it okay for everyone? Comment on the tagboard thanks !

I think the taiwan trip was pretty awesome as we learnt some experience !

It had been a long period since the last post so decided to post something.

Everyone please work on our new piece Sinfonia Nobilissima alright?

Ya it's a hard piece but let's work hard as a section to play this piece better ok ?

Because you heard how we sounded today during sectional right ?

So ya although we just saw the piece the 2nd time but after 1 week let's see the improvement in the whole section and no one should be lagging behind alright ?

Okay practice, practice, practice ! We can do it alright !

Hey all, make sure you guys send a DAILY report to Ms chang! Even you did not practice, you also must email her and tell her your reason. (eg. Public holiday? Alot of homework?) Just spend around 5 - 10mins to send in your report.
Juniors, work on your second suite 1st movement tell alphabet (H) and first suite 3rd movement. Any problems, feel free to ask ~
Seniors, whole piece off second suite. 1st and 3rd movement of first suite and 3rd movement of english folk songs..

I know exams is round the corner.. So plan your time well.. Like what ms chang said before, you can at least spend only 15 mins on solving a few bars right instead of not practising :)

20 tune up's - ( number 8 ) so that Mr Lin tells us to play, we can play it fluently as a section.

Pieces for the Taiwan trip.

-First suite in Eb - first movement ( Chaconne )

Finally our national band competition is over. (:

We clinched a sliver !

We obtained a percentage of 78.33% and it was kind of the highest sliver. ^^ But hope you guys are not complacent with the SILVER as what San Zhi says. And as Mr Lim says treat this as a learning experience as maybe that's your first time performing on stage. And remember what the bms say about having respect when someone is talking and remember not to feel safe and play it out. Work harder for the upcoming pieces for the MacRitchie performance :D There're 3 confirmed pieces which is blue sky and sunshine, dancing in the wind and fire dance. [: The MacRitchie performance is on 15 August so there's not much time left (: And for the junior competition is on 24 August (i think). So don't waste any single band practices and come for every single practice :D

Don't forget that there's band practice tmr . (:

And don't forget to write your reflections !! :DD

No offence, but the playing today sucked to the core. Sorry for spoiling your mood if you are happy but it's time to stop fooling around and buck up. When will every single one of you start to care? You heard what Mr Yeo said about people paying money to listen to our playing. That is a sign. Not just some random comment. What he meant is that what he heard sucked and we really gotta buck up unless we want to be labelled as the worst performing group in school. You want that? YOU WANT THAT? Cultural Night is next Saturday. Not two weeks later. Not next month. Not next year. Not next decade. So stop acting like it is.

Remember. Band suck because we suck. We came up with that ourselves. Don't forget those words. Ever.

This post regards about our clarinet outing. :D

Date:16th May 2010, Sunday.

Time: 1pm-8pm.

Venue: Sentosa.

Meet at AMK mrt station (passenger service).

We will be playing at sentosa beach (palawan, siloso or tanjong beach), animal and bird encounter (free admission program) and taking sky ride.

Animal and bird encounter is free of charge.

Sky ride costs $12 per person.

If many cannot afford, then we will not take it. (:

As i forward the sms, i said that this is our first clarinet outing so hope everyone can go.

We will also be having our dinner together.

Depends on the amount of money you people have and we will have our dinner (:

The scales we have done are 65, 66, 67,68,69,70,71,72,81 . The next three scales you should be practicing on are 73, 74 and 75. Do practice your stuff. For sec twos is 110 , sec threes 123 and sec fours 136 and for the scales thing ( 1na 2ena 3na 4ena 1 ) we will be playing concert Eb then concert F concert Ab concert Bb and lastly concert C (from the lower octave)Lastly, go through you spirited away and Samba de loves you !

And juniors! you EE hmwrk is 15, 16, 17 !!JIAYOU!!

Hey guys. So today we learnt some of the exercises we can do during sectionals or at home self-pract..

1)Tonguing exercise
2)Fingering exercise
3)Symphonic band technique
Both of the exercises do help alot . Do practice them at home :D
And rmbr that Grp A starts at 10 and Grp B starts at 11 30 am.

Hey CLARINETIST, i shall make this my second post.

Here are the 12 Wynton practise methods ; since the juniors dont know
1) Seek help, get a Teacher
2) Make a schedule - Organise yourself
3) Set goals to chart development
4) Concentrate when you practise
5) Practise Slowly
6) Practise longer, spent more time on things that you can't play
7) Play everything to maximum, expression
8) Don't be too hard or easy on yourself
9) Don't show off youself (show off your MUSIC)
10) Think for yourself -Find your way
11) Be Optimistic
12) Always look for connections to other things

okays this may be late for it's for the juniors :D take that in mind
